Sustainability & Marine Conservation

Six Senses Laamu Maldives resort runs the Maldives Underwater Initiative (MUI), partnering with Manta Trust, Blue Marine Foundation, and Olive Ridley Project to protect manta rays, turtles, and whale sharks. The resort protects five hectares of natural seagrass, restores coral reefs (guests can help plant coral), and produces its own drinking water from seawater, served in glass bottles with no single-use plastics. Behind-the-scenes sustainability tours show guests the recycling center, power generation, water facilities, and staff areas, plus there is an organic garden and chicken coop.

Each guest is assigned a dedicated Guest Experience Maker (GEM) who coordinates all activities, restaurant bookings, and special requests via WhatsApp, ensuring a seamless stay.
